Hi.
My name is Jon Shiroma and I am a graphic designer, though some of you may know me as elevated antelope. I have very eclectic taste in music, art, and life in general for I really feel that life is too short to afford a closed mind. I am a gearhead at heart, and will be til the day I die. From this love of all things petrol powered, I have learned skills like basic electrical engineering, as well as other lessons that translated to other parts of my life: how to be very organized, and how to tackle a seemingly impossible task.

SOME DETAILS

Tools

I use Adobe's Creative Suite when I create. That includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects, Premier, and Dreamweaver. And, for the record, I don't use design view. Ever. I also use a Wacom Intous tablet and am quite fond of mechanical keyboards. I am comfortable operating on Windows boxes as well as OS X boxes as well. I can also work in Linux and love Ubuntu.

Non-work

When I'm not working, I'm doing something with cars. Either hanging out with one of the car clubs/forums I helped start, or working on my e30. I love creating, and working with my hands. Wrenching away for hours is a bit like therapy for me. Helps me reach my inner-zen, if you will. I also enjoy photogrpahy, but need to get out and shoot a lot more...

Misc

I attended Platt College in San Diego, CA and got a BS degree in digital media production, specializing in 3D animation and digital video production. Prior to Platt, I spent time studying for a degree in psychology (having completed 90% of the undergrad courses before switching to graphic design).
